When it comes to gift giving, women enjoy pretty much anything romantic, girly, and thoughtful. That makes lingerie the perfect gift because it meet these expectations and can really make her feel appreciated and loved. 

Now that you have decided to purchase her a lingerie, you may be thinking all lingerie is created equal and that you can zip in a local department store and grab something off the rack and run out. It's almost that easy, but if you take a little extra effort and follow these guidelines she will appreciate you more than you ever dreamed possible.

1. Remember to keep her in mind when making your purchase. This seems so obvious but unfortunately many men buy what they want or what someone else recommends based on their taste. This can really ruin the whole gift of lingerie.  

2. Know her correct size. It is helpful to get this information without asking her, especially if you plan to give it to her as a surprise. If you are unsure of her size, look at the tags of some of her other lingerie pieces for information. If she does not currently own any lingerie, getting her panty, bra, shirt, and pant sizes will be extremely helpful.

3. Take into consideration her style and personality. As mentioned earlier, pick items that are for her and for you...not just for you! If she is conservative, go with a piece that shows that personality even if you prefer something a bit racier. If you buy something that is too out of character and takes her too far out of her comfort zone, odds are she won't wear it and the gift will lay sitting in the bottom of a drawer.

4. Take her body shape into consideration. Many women don't even do this so if you are able to pick an item that accentuates her assets and minimizes her flaws you are sure to pick a winner. For example, if you know she is self conscious about a certain area of her body, buy pieces that are less revealing in that area.

5. Ask for assistance from someone that knows her taste and style. 

6. Also, remember to wrap the lingerie in a beautiful package. Presentation is not everything but it will definitely set the stage for what is inside.

7. Consider planning a special or romantic way in which to bestow your gift upon her. Women love for their men to make them feel special. Use a little creativity and spontaneity. It will surely remind her why she fell in love with you to begin with!
